“The most precious light is the one that visits you in your darkest hour.”
Mehmet Murat ildan.
The simple fact that light manifests itself as a wave or a particle guarantees the impossibility of it having an intrinsic reality.
Its dual aspect is explained by Niels Bohr's Principle of Complementarity. However, the ease with which we understand the interaction of the wave/particle and its measuring instrument is very far from our understanding of the philosophical concept underlying Bohr's theory: the decay of the wave function in the case -due to the duality of light- it manifests itself in reality only through the interrelation of our metabolism and the stability of the patterns of this decay!
In other words, the reality is nothing more than the way in which I make my understanding of phenomena more flexible so that it coincides with yours and, from there, with that of most people, so that this agreement on a segment of what is possible and common guarantees us a reliable existence, for real.
It doesn't interest me -or you- to know that the blue color of my dress is nothing more than the atoms of the fabric absorbing the yellow and red and reflecting the blue and green; just as it doesn't interest us to know that the heat of the sun that we feel on our skin occurs when photons manifest themselves as particles or grains of light and not as waves.
What is part of our reality is that blue is the favorite color of most people because it refers to the sky and the heat of the sun warms our souls.
This is what we consciously define as real.
