Conscience and Reality

Our greatest human adventure is the evolution of consciousness.”

Tom Robbins

Quantum mechanics is uncomfortable.

It is difficult, surprising, and full of paradoxes.  And yet it works.  But like homo, we are constantly called to stasis, or a giant let it be to see what happens.

If -for a perfect astral conjunction, immersed in I Ching hexagram 24, wrapped by the Master of Furoshiki- the genius physicists of the early twentieth century were in for the tabula rasa, in a deep and frightening dive into the philosophy that allows quantum mechanics, his successors did just the opposite and the more time has passed, the louder stasis spoke.

Firmly committed to the condition that I know I know nothing, these first explorers of quantum mechanics were obliged to understand what Consensus  defines as consciousness.

Applying logics, they arrived at three levels: gross, subtle, and ultra-subtle consciousness; significantly improved by Paul MacLean in his triune brain theory.

However, these geniuses, not wedded to the comfort of Aristotelian logic and the exchange of perspectives, arrived at the definitions of a consistent unreality, where the Arrow of Time is the repository -in flux- of consciousness; and of an unconscious unreality or the metabolic apprehension of Consensus.

For materialists, the human being is nothing more than a package of neurons and consciousness, the property that emerges from the circulation of the electrical signs emitted by the package.

For a certain current of neurobiologists, the interpretation of reality (which I always treat as Consensus) is only a reflection of the metabolic interactions of homo with his environment, and this reflection would be consciousness.

For me, consciousness is an ultra-comprehensive network formed by stable patterns.

And for you?
