Is There Always a Beginning?

“Our individuality is all, all, that we have.”

Tom Robbins

Whenever he proposed or discussed something related to quantum mechanics -and, I have the impression, to everything else- Werner Heisenberg emphasized that our understanding is directly linked to our metabolism and is therefore limited to the interpretation parameterized by it.

In our Aristotelian logic, which dogmatically postulates the Arrow of Time, everything has a beginning and an end.  Let's concentrate on the beginning.

If our conceptual system unconditionally embraces the notion of the origin of something, abstraction being the only possibility of its absence, the materiality of reality is irrevocably installed.

For us, the real is tangible.  So we accept with equanimity something almost childish: something extremely dense and hot, the size of a marble, explodes and gives rise to the Universe.  And with it, Space and Time.

In the Big Bang theory, proposed by the Belgian priest George Lemaître, we find confirmation for everything.  Just like the creationists.

From the dogmatic postulate, George Gamow, a Russian physicist, and a naturalized North American proposes that during the first 300 thousand years of the Universe, its temperature and density were so extreme that any of the structures existing today, for example, the stars, would not have the lowest training condition.  Curiously, Gamow proposes that there would have been only fundamental particles and... light!

And among the myriad of possible explanations, we have chosen to believe that there is background radiation that originated in the Big Bang and that underpins it.

Just as we firmly believed in the model defended by Ptolemy, in his Almagest.  We are too arrogant to accept the extent of our ignorance.
