The prices of carbon credits have halted their recovery trend in the compliance and voluntary markets, since their record pricing in mid-August 2022 of €98.43.
In the week between February 13 and 20, 2024, the EUA (European Union Allowance) contracts were traded below €57.20, losing €4.06 in a week's time, settling at €53.14. The highest volume was traded on 02/19 equalling 37,567 contracts and the lowest volume was traded on 02/16, totaling 23,266 contracts.
The prices for contracts in the CCA (California Carbon Allowance Futures), Vintage Specific 2022, gained US$ 0.00 or 0.00% since closing price on February 12, to close at US$ 28.66 on February 20.
On 02/20, the Voluntary Carbon Market for Aviation, Nature-Based, and Tech-based was quoted at US$ 0.60, US$ 0.29, and US$ 0.68, respectively. On average, they lost over 2.7% relative to their closing prices on 02/12.
The prices for the ZerO2Nature diseconomy units lost on average 1.38% relative to one week ago, closing on 02/20 at €46.82 (F-DTU), €57.48 (B-DTU), €129.68 (M-DTU), €23.15 (N-DTU), €70.50 (H-DTU), and €76.41 (C-DTU).
